Israel 2013 - Day 9

We spent all day driving down out of the Galilee to Tel Aviv to catch our flight early Sunday morning at 00:50am.

We visited Cana, Nazareth overlook, Nazareth Village, Caesarea Maritima and the ancient sea port and city Jaffa.

This is a picture of one of the "re-enactors" at Nazareth Village. Nazareth Village is a "living presentation of the life, times and teachings of Jesus the Messiah" located right in the heart of the modern city of Nazareth, Israel. It is land located right behind the YMCA of Nazareth which serves as NV's home base. NV was developed by the University of the Holy Land and has a very interesting founding story.

Inside you can visit the gift shop, some display cases and 4 classrooms that introduce the world of 1st Century Palestine. After the guide has taken you through the classrooms which present various aspects of Jesus' life and ministry, you go outside to the real attraction... a 2 hectare recreation of the rural life and times of Jesus the Messiah. Complete with an empty tomb, a real 1st century wine press, synagogue, houses, animals and using the period agricultural practices that lie behind so many of Jesus' parables and teachings, NV is a MUST for any serious student of Jesus and his teachings while in the Holy Land.
